Daresbury District Heritage Group
We research houses and people, railways and canals, churches and farms, land use and occupations………. and are interested in every aspect of our parish’s history – Daresbury, Moore, Preston Brook, Hatton and Sandymoor.
We have 1000 years of history to celebrate!
We share all our research with the local community through workshops, displays, talks and walks. Most of our talks and workshops are held at The Lewis Carroll Centre at All Saints’ Church, Daresbury. Walks and displays are generally within the parish. Training is provided for those who would like to undertake some research but are not quite sure how to go about it.
Our sources of information include recollections and artefacts from the villagers of today, censuses, parish records, newspapers, wills and a range of other documents from Chester Archives and the local libraries.
Come along to our meetings and events – you’ll always be very welcome. Or, if you can’t come in person, then follow us on our website and Facebook page. We’d love you to join us.
