Daresbury District Heritage Group

We have received a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund for our work to commemorate those men and to tell their stories and those of the families and villages they left behind.

Daresbury village photo copyThe group was established in April 2014, bringing together local people who were already researching the area’s history. We were aware that the year was the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War and wanted to undertake a joint project that would commemorate all those from the parish who served in the forces.

We have 1000 years of history to celebrate!

We have received a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund for our work to commemorate those men and to tell their stories and those of the families and villages they left behind.

It is not only the FirstMoore village photo World War that we are interested in, but in every aspect of the area’s history – Daresbury, Moore, Preston Brook, Hatton and Sandymoor.

We share all our research with the local community through workshops, displays, talks and walks. Training is provided for those who would like to undertake some research but are not quite sure how to go about it.
