Runcorn & District Historical Society was founded in 2000, after meetings between three Runcorn history stalwarts, Messrs Bill Leathwood, Bert Starkey and Alex Cowan.

We hold our meetings at Wicksten Drive, Runcorn. We meet once a month for talks and events which relate to both the history of Runcorn and to that of the surrounding area. We keep an archive which holds a growing number of documents, photographs and historical material.
We usually meet on the first Friday of every month at 7:30pm, except for January (a winter break) and August, when we go on our Annual Outing. Details of talks and events can be found on our website on the meetings programme page.
Admission to talks is free for members although visitors are welcome to join any of our meetings when a £2 entrance fee is charged.
Members wishing to do research and make presentations to the Society are given every support and encouragement to do so, and will be able to make use of the Society’s audio/visual equipment.
